Any gamers who play the popular Battlefield series may recognize this location. Wake Island is a map in Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2.

Wake Island was also recently in the news, having been directly in the path of Hurricane Ioke, the strongest hurricane recorded in the central Pacific.
